Support of major Internet protocols

internetVista® supports monitoring of the major server types found on the Internet:

  • your servers (PING)
  • your web servers (HTTP)
  • your secured web servers (HTTPS)
  • your mail servers (SMTP, IMAP and POP)
  • your newsgroup servers (NNTP)
  • your file servers (FTP)
  • your domain name servers (DNS)
  • your services based directly on TCP and UDP

Several points of presence

Checks of the proper functioning of your applications are made from several monitoring centres in different locations around the world. An error is counter-checked by one or more monitoring centres before an alarm is sent. To date, we have 6 monitoring centres located in the United States, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Belgium.

How it works

How it works

Availability of service 24/7

Thanks to our multiple points of presence, service availability is always ensured even in case of a temporary malfunction or maintenance work in one of the monitoring centres.

Nothing to install

No program to be installed, monitoring is carried out from the distributed internetVista® infrastructure. Configuration of your account is made through a web application.

Checks every minute

For each monitored application, you have the choice of a monitoring frequency between 1 and 60 minutes (1, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 60 minutes).

Email and SMS alerts

In case a malfunction is detected in one of your applications, emails and SMS are immediately sent to your previously-defined contacts. The messages indicate, in particular, the cause of the problem. In the same way, messages can be sent as soon as the problem is resolved. [List of supported SMS operators].

Protection against false alarms

An error is counter-checked from one or several monitoring centres before an alert is triggered. This counter-check from different sites around the world sharply reduces the risk that the alert is due to an unimportant interconnection problem

Internationalization

Conversion of all the dates and hours in your time zone.

Working language selected from the following: English, Dutch, French and Spanish.

Reporting

Consultation at any time of an activity report for the last 7 days. This report contains information about response times of your application and about availability/unavailability.

Daily, weekly and monthly activity reports sent by email to addresses of your choice.

A la carte pricing

Monitoring of as many applications as you need. The cost of monitoring is determined by the application and the monitoring frequency.

Use of as many contact media as you need. These media can be either electronic mail or SMS. You can then decide that the warning messages should be sent to 3 email addresses and to 2 telephones.

And also?

  • When monitoring a web site (http et https), it is possible to check the presence of a key sentence in the content of the monitored page. If this key sentence is not present on the page, an alert is sent. This mechanism makes it possible to go a step further in the monitoring activities, making sure that, even if a site responds correctly, no problem has occurred during the building process of the page. This mechanism of checking key sentences is also available for tcp applications.
  • Possibility of being alerted if your application answers correctly but that the response time exceeds a certain duration (in seconds) that you choose. For example, you consider that an answer taking 15 seconds is too long and you want to be informed when that occurs.
  • Online consultation of one month's history of checks and 3 months' history of alerts.
  • Exporting checks and alerts history in CSV format.
  • Possibility of defining maintenance periods during which an application is not monitored.
  • Possibility of defining maintenance periods during which a medium is not alerted.
  • Deactivation/activation of the monitoring of an application at any time.
  • Deactivation/activation of a medium at any time.
  • Consultation/modification of your personal data and your account configuration data.
  • Consultation/printing of invoices, if any.
  • Closing the account at any time.
