On-call & phone call alerts

Someone always answers when your website goes down.

An alert is only useful if someone acts on it. internetvista now calls the person on duty, reminds them until they react, and brings in the next person when nobody does. Everything is set up in your account in a few minutes, with no extra tool to buy.

Phone call alerts

A phone call wakes people up where an email or an SMS goes unnoticed. Add a phone number as an alert medium and internetvista calls it as soon as one of your applications goes down.

  • A voice message says which application is down and why, in the language of the medium.
  • Press 1 during the call to acknowledge the incident: reminders and escalation stop for everyone.
  • You are called when the application goes down and again when it is back up. Warnings never trigger a call.
  • Works with any mobile or landline phone, with no app to install.

On-call schedules

Tell internetvista who is on duty and it alerts the right person at the right time.

  • Responders: the people who can be alerted, each with their own media (phone, SMS, email, Slack...).
  • Rotations: daily or weekly shifts that hand over automatically on the day and at the time you choose, in your time zone.
  • See at a glance who is on duty now and who takes over next.

Escalation policies

An escalation policy decides who is alerted, in what order and how often, until someone takes charge.

  • Levels: the person on duty is alerted first; if nobody acknowledges within the delay you set (15 minutes by default), the next level is alerted too.
  • Reminders: alerts are repeated at growing intervals (for example after 5, 10 and 20 minutes, then every 30 minutes), so nobody misses them and nobody is flooded.
  • Your applications, your choice: apply a policy to many applications in one click, make it the default for new applications, or give an application its own.

Acknowledge in one gesture

Whoever takes charge acknowledges the incident: by pressing 1 during a call, with the link in an email, Slack or webhook alert, from the web application or through the REST API. Reminders and escalation stop at once, and your team sees who acknowledged and when.

Pricing

On-call schedules, rotations and escalation policies are included at no extra cost.

A phone number is billed like any other alert medium. Each call uses 2 SMS credits, taken from the same prepaid credits as SMS alerts; if the call cannot be placed, the credits are refunded.
