If you use Slack, the messaging app for teams (https://slack.com), you can now integrate it with your internetVista monitoring. In practical terms, this integration allows you to directly receive the alert notifications in a Slack channel that you share with your team. Follow these steps to configure Slack with internetVista:
Your application has experienced a breakdown and you have not received an alert? We will check all the possible reasons for it step by step:
internetVista® detected an error in your application (website, mail server,...); what error does it involve, how do I detect what is wrong?
In our terminology, an application is an element that being monitored. This may be a URL, an email server, a DNS server or even a mySql database.
The media is the means of communication between you and internetVista. The media is used in case of alerts and also to send you the performance statistics of your Internet services.
The monitoring centres access your web server using the user-agent: "internetVista monitor (Mozilla compatible)".
The performance reports are sent by email. If you do not receive your emails containing the performance reports, here's a list of things to check so as to identify the source of the problem:
The internetVista® services allow you to monitor your internet applications. These applications can be web sites (http), secured web sites (https), file servers (ftp), domain name servers (dns), email servers (smtp, imap and pop), servers (ping), database servers (mysql) or your own applications based directly on tcp and udp.
Our job is to monitor your Internet services and alert you if there's a fault in these services as soon as possible.
Your requirements change with time, and so do your website. Consequently, if the URL that you are checking via our website monitoring changes, you must modify it in our internetVista manager:
Our monitoring service monitors your Internet services at a frequency varying from 1 minute to 60 minutes depending on your preferences. You choose the desired frequency depending on your requirements and especially depending on the critical nature of the service to be monitored.
An alert is triggered when our monitoring centres detect a fault or a malfunction in your application being monitored. You receive the alert only when this error is confirmed by at least one more monitoring centre, which makes it possible to avoid false alerts.
In the case of website monitoring, it is important to make sure that the content of the page being monitored corresponds to what you are expecting. For this, our monitoring centres check whether the content downloaded from your website contains a matching sentence that you have selected.
An application can have three different statuses:
If you have lost your password for accessing your monitoring account, you can have it sent to you by email by going to the password request page.
The bandwidth used by our monitoring service while checking is negligible. In fact, we simulate the arrival of an internet user at regular intervals but we download only the HTML code of your page without the images and dependent scripts.
In order to make sure that the configuration of your alert media is working properly and that you receive your alerts, we recommend you to:
